the bookends

...why the bookends?
1) to create a micro-world where Asdrubale finds a way to tell himself;
2) because a bookend is a useful thing;
3) because the book is one of the most extraordinary objects created by men to condense and pass on the wealth of thought, ingenuity, knowledge... so Asdrubale, in its own way, supports culture.
And in its smallness, he too is made of cellulose.

those are just examples... others went off without leaving a souvenir photo

Asdrubale is in swing
to see the world that swings
Asdrubale finds with himself an occasional balance
Asdrubale cultivates a secret garden
(the sign says "do not trample on dreams")
Asdrubale tells uplifting stories to the bad fungus,
hoping it becomes good
Adrubale talks with bookworms,
devourers of Philosophy

Reality is a hallucination caused by the lack of alcohol
Asdrubale cleans the universe sweeping the stardust
Asdrubale launches himself with great courage
in a dizzying descent of two centimeters
Asdrubale playing with train - or maybe it's the little train that plays with Asdrubale

Asdrubale
sticks the little stars in the firmament
to help it be nice
Asdrubale hangs out a piece of music
Asdrubale breaks the balls
(...made on commission, of course as a gift
for someone who breaks the balls)
Asdrubale "haranguing" the crowd
(image is not so clear...
Asdrubale is giving an herring to the
little cats waiting)
ooppss

(gift for Benedetta, who practices Zen Archery
- where you are the archer, the arch and also the arrow)
to get higher, you need collaboration
Asdrubale boldly plunges,
in order to learn to dive

(dedicated to mothers who say
"you will not enter the water until you are able to swim")
social climbers? don't know.
Here I exaggerated a little in group dynamics.
birthday gifts for the clever Barbara C. :

imagine all the people living for today

(original title was:
"Asdrubale teaches kite to fly
and learns that to fly you need to be light")

a little light - a little heat - a little good company
("Life", basic recipe)

this below is not a bookend
but an homage to my friends Sergio and Stefania of Svoboda Orchestra:

(But they are less woody, and they sound just fine.
And they are more beautiful, especially Stefania who is the one with the microphone)

... more coming... there are many on the waiting list to become solid.
